“I didn’t even realize some of what I was saying until my teacher started GET.A.VOICE in our class.” - 3rd grade boy

“It (GET.A.VOICE™) is helpful to all students because everyone is called names at some point. This program allows for a sense of unity among people who choose to stand up and make change.” - 9th grade girl

“At first, I didn’t want to take the pledge. But a lot of my friends did. And one day on the playground, this kid was calling me a crybaby and one girl in the group said, ‘Don’t treat her that way!’ I felt so glad someone stood up for me.” - 4th grade girl

“I’m realizing that it doesn’t feel so good to be on the other side of the joke.” - 6th grade boy

“What I notice most about GET.A.VOICE™ is that it has a lasting effect. Kids who took the oath last year are still standing up and challenging kids when they hear offensive language.”- 8th grade girl

“Me and my friend said something to a bully because he was bothering my friend who was younger. We said, “stop, you can’t do that just because he’s younger!” He had nothing left to say so he stopped.” - 6th grade boy

“Sixth grade kids on the bus would say, “get out of here,” “idiot, move!”, “get out of the seat,” “you’re hogging it!”. But we kept saying, “knock it off, you don’t own these seats. We can sit here!” It took about a week, but now we sit there and they don’t say anything to us anymore. Our bus driver is involved now, too.” - 4th grade girl

“When someone is bullying them, they have to find a voice inside. GAV not only teaches people to watch what they’re saying but also helps others stand up to each other. - 4th girl

“I don’t feel alone anymore. - 6th grade girl
